Research group: Translational ADME and Pharmacodynamics

The Translational ADME and Pharmacodynamics group aims to identify key factors affecting drug response in humans. In particular, our research focuses on drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters. We combine laboratory experiments, computer simulations (physiologically-based pharmacokintetic (PBPK) modelling), and data science, and collaborate with clinical researchers to understand, predict and, in the end, improve therapeutic drug response and drug safety.

We are especially interested is improving drug safety during pregnancy, and in developing methods that can be used in early drug development to screen for potential teratogenic effects.

Group leader: Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy, Dr. Anne Filppula
